Department of Buddhist StudiesDBS offers students both chances on Buddhist studies as well as experiencing of Chinese Buddhist culture. As for academic discipine, the department provides students with abundant academic resources for their studies on Buddhist philology, Buddhist hermeneutics, canonical languages (i.e. Sanskrit and Tibetan), and Chinese Buddhist histories and thoughts (i.e. Tiantai 天台, Huayan 華嚴, etc.). Besdies, students will have opportunities to experience Chinese Buddhist culture through practices of meditation and Dharma servies.
🔸 Scholarship $50,000 NTD per semester (conditions apply).
🔸 M.A. English-track program: all courses are conducted in English.
🔸 Special focus on the studies of Chinese Mahāyāna Buddhism.
